Sonic Therapeutics is a biotech start-up founded by leading migraine and psychopharmacology scientists. It is developing a new class of 5-HT2A allosteric modulators to treat migraine, a condition that affects more than a billion people, half of whom don't respond to today's leading drugs. Ahead of its seed round, the company needed a brand and investor materials that could explain complex neuroscience clearly while standing apart from the clinical look common in the sector.
My brief was to create a visual identity from the ground up and apply it across the company's core touchpoints. The most important of these were the investor pitch deck and the Q4 2025 Deal Book, which had to present the science, the pipeline, the founding team and the funding plan in a way that investors could follow quickly.
I designed a geometric wordmark, built from an outlined construction grid, and paired it with a deep navy and electric purple palette to suggest precision and energy. I extended the identity into an app icon, a dashboard interface, merchandise and environmental mockups, and short motion pieces for digital use. For the decks, I created a modular slide system with light and dark themes. It turns dense data such as receptor mechanisms, market sizing, the drug pipeline and seed allocation into clear charts, timelines and 3D molecular visuals.
The result is a consistent brand system that carries from a single icon to a 30-page investor document. It gives Sonic Therapeutics a confident, modern presence that matches the ambition of its science.
